The Santa Fe Opera

301 Opera Dr, Santa Fe, New Mexico, July and August

An open-air opera house on a mesa about seven miles north of town, founded by John Crosby in 1957 and rebuilt in 1998 under a sweeping cantilevered roof. The sides are open to the weather, so the desert and the Jemez mountains sit behind the stage and the sun goes down through the second act. Bring a coat whatever the forecast, because it cools off hard once the light goes. The 2026 season runs from the 3rd of July to the 29th of August, with curtain at 8.30pm through July and 8pm from the 3rd of August.
