A hillside of restored hanok, the old tiled-roof courtyard houses, wedged in behind Gyeongbokgung. Walking here straight from the palace is the obvious move. Beyond the lanes it is a whole shopping district of small, strange, very good stores. People still live here, so keep your voice down.
