Bukhansan National Park

The mountains you see standing behind Gyeongbokgung, and reachable by subway and bus. Baegundae is the peak everyone climbs, a half-day scramble to bare granite above the cloud line. With one more whole day this is absolutely the hike we would have done. Go on a weekday; weekends bring half the city in matching hiking gear.
